The date of December 6 coincides with the 48th death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar, who is remembered for his contributions to human rights, social justice, affirmative action programs, and the academic field. The event will include a discussion of Dr. Ambedkar's contributions to helping many of India's depressed communities with overcoming stigma, institutionalized barriers, segregation and economic exploitation.
