Hong Kong Foodscape: A Reading by and Dialogue with Leung Ping-kwan


The Centre for Chinese Research is delighted to be able to announce that the
internationally-renowned Professor Leung Ping-kwan (Ye Si), poet, fiction
writer, critic, scholar, and major figure in Hong Kong's cultural landscape,
will be giving a reading of his poetry and engaging in a discussion of his
work and its relation to Hong Kong, food, and Vancouver, at the Institute of
Asian Research, Room 120, C.K. Choi Building, 1855 West Mall on Thursday
29th July 6.30- 8.30.

Professor Leung, Chair of Comparative Literature, Department of Chinese, and
Director, Centre for Humanities Research, is the author of poetic works such
as City at the End of Time, A Poetry of Floating Signs, and Foodscape. His
collections of essays and criticism include Hong Kong Culture and the
forthcoming Poetry and Cultural Studies. He has collaborated with artists
on installations of his work in Canada, Europe, and Hong Kong.
