Tuition
Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents
$4383.87 payable in three installments of $1,421.29 for each of the Fall (September), Spring (January) and Summer (May) terms in a school year.
International students
$7640.88 payable in three installments of $2,546.96 for each of the Fall (September), Spring (January) and Summer (May) terms in a school year.
Notes:
• All funds are in Canadian dollars.
• The annual tuition fee does not include student’s fees and other miscellaneous fees that are levied by the Registrar’s Office.
• This tuition fee structure applies only to the MAAPPS component. Tuition fee for the Joint MAAPPS/LLB program will be calculated as tuition fee of the MAAPPS component plus LLB course fees. All tuition fees are calculated and assessed by the Records and Registration Office of Student Services.

Scholarships
International Tuition Partial Scholarship
International students are eligible for an annual International Partial Tuition Scholarship of $3200.00 to assist with your tuition fees provided you are not the recipient of external funding which pays your tuition. This amount is payable in 3 equal installments a year. No application forms need to be submitted.
Graduate Student Initiative
The funds received by the Institute of Asian Research from the Graduate Student Initiative (GSI) will be used to award MAAPPS students with tuition fee waivers. Monies will be contingent on the amount of funding available for the academic year. All candidates accepted into the MAAPPS program will be considered by the Admissions Committee and ranked according to their qualifications and excellence in past endeavours.
Awards
Graduate Student Travel Fund
The Faculty of Graduate Studies administers the Graduate Student Travel Fund. Graduate students are eligible for the Graduate Student Travel Fund only once per degree program. The Travel Fund provides one-time travel support to a maximum of $500 per graduate student who presents a paper or poster at an official conference or symposium (student workshops are ineligible) while they are enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program.
MAAPPS Award for Excellence in Practicum Report and Thesis
In order to acknowledge and encourage outstanding works, the MAAPPS program offers awards for the best thesis research and practicum paper. Supervisors of thesis and practicum paper will identify excellent works and recommend them to the Award Committee for further elaboration to determine the winner. This award will have official recognition through the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Successful works from this and previous years are available for consultation in the MAAPPS Program Office.

Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)
We encourage applicants to apply for a SSHRC award if they will be in the program for longer than one year. Please visist the SSHRC website for further information. Please note that SSHRC awards are only open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
