Welcome to the Official Site for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Visit to Vancouver 2004

The Institute of Asian Research, University of British Columbia, was honored to invite His Holiness to Vancouver April 18-20, 2004. The visit was organized as a unique collaboration between the University of British Columbia, the Tibetan Cultural Society of BC, the Westcoast Sacred Arts Society, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Simon Fraser University and a coalition of local dharma centers. Over 30,000 people were able to participate in one or more of seven main events:

• a Spiritual Teaching
• a Public Talk
• an Academic Conference
• a Musical Tribute
• a Roundtable Dialogue with other visionaries
• two Special Honorary Degree Ceremonies
